| Dr.
John Warren of Boston purchased the area that later became Corinna from
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1804. He paid about 27 cents an acre
for the 23,040 acres of land then known as Township Four, Range Four, North
of the Waldo Patent.
By 1817, William Moore operated a mill on the stream in the present village. At that time, the area was known as Moore's Mills. |
