Dorman Mill built at the lower dam - 1874
![]()
| Jesse and Charles Dorman came to Corinna in 1874. They constructed a log dam south of Moore’s Mills on the East Branch of the Sebasticook River. There they built and operated the first woolen mill in the town. A few years later the mill was taken over by Charles Greenwood. He had arrived from England some years before. Greenwood and his son operated the mill until local owners (Burrill and Clark) acquired it in 1909. For a time, the mill was know as the Kenwood Woolen Mill. In the 1930's the name was changed to Moosehead Woolen Mill. |
