Eastland Purchased Mill - 1936

In 1936 the Striar family from Bangor purchased the deteriorating Corinna Manufacturing Company on Main Street and formed the Eastland Woolen Company. At that time, the mill was only running part time and employed about 60 people. Before it closed in 1996, the mill expanded to 12 times the size in 1936 and employed more than 600 people.
