| Legislation called the Sinclair Act, passed in the 1960s, established incentives for small towns to join together forming school administrative districts. After some controversy regarding which towns would be involved, SAD 48 was formed in 1965 including Corinna, Newport, Hartland, St. Albans, Palmyra, and Plymouth. | |
